钟乳髑髅 (1885) R4 w/ Tim McInnerny. "the first English adventure novel set in Africa" and the Lost World literary genre. 非洲原始、野蛮、美丽、神秘，虽然殖民主义不可避免，难得有一种平等观念，例如复仇的王子和女配角色；情节写实，完全没那些故弄玄虚
评分其实里面有很多幽默的片段，也有很多很美的风景描写，但种族歧视以及隐含的性别歧视还是会小小的破坏阅读的乐趣，虽然可以理解那个年代白人作家思想的狭隘性，但读的时候确实会觉得不舒服。
评分又是一本很好看的老书，有一点点历史，不过主要还是探险题材，大背景在非洲。除了情节，更喜欢作者的文笔，简洁优雅又不失风趣，猜想这本适合中学生读？
