Golding's best-known novel is the story of a group of boys who, after a plane crash, set up a fragile community on a previously uninhabited island. As memories of home recede and the blood from frenzied pig-hunts arouses them, the boys' childish fear turns into something deeper and more primitive.

多年後終於讀瞭標準中學生讀物。Educational Edition的notes部分仿佛邊讀邊浮現老師參照給的問題讓學生迴答。書末Fable還蠻好的。"I must say that anyone who moved through those years without understanding that man produces evil as a bee produces honey, must have been blind or wrong in the head" 然後說自己是個optimist……
评分二十年前看過中文版，細節都忘光瞭，這次“重讀”，纔感到它的寓意之精深，和景物、心理、語言描寫的登峰造極。
评分真的很好看。特彆是最後代錶理性的R被集體追殺那裏。在理性快要被抹殺的瞬間，海灘上齣現瞭來自文明世界的救援，R得救瞭的心情與J的如夢初醒都很值得細細體會。
评分代錶真理的Simon喪命，代錶智慧的Piggy的死亡，最終僅存的代錶理性與秩序的Ralph奄奄一息，無力與代錶原始與獸性的Jack抗衡。隻有那滴著血的斷豬頭咧著嘴笑。 惡在恐懼中發芽，在人性中生長。根本便是civility與savagery的對抗。 人性很脆弱。
