评分Eshleman的翻譯，普遍沒有太大問題，但是許多意象和語言的使用看法文原文更能瞭解Cesaire的意思。
评分覺得苦悶比憤恨多，前半部分都是蒼老、疲憊，有反抗的聲音從城市傳來，稍後卻總是重復在承認與投降；不光是在“承認”曆史創傷，甚至到瞭種族與“科學定義”的地步；不過即使再無奈，也有憤懣。
