很中规中矩的初级犯罪心理探案内容，但是悬疑感太差强人意了，很多逻辑有点突然，里面设计的政治背景和人物个性也有点尴尬，不是很抓人。尤其是核心对于凶手的解读不过瘾，无论从学术上还是艺术上来说。

翻译的有些差强人意，有些地方语法有问题，并且语句不顺。作品不错。

虽然故事好像没有高潮，但是阅读过程很舒服，为医生和玛丽惋惜。除此之外，也能让我进一步感受到，我厌恶些什么东西。

我就有个疑问 这是真事么……

情节不是很出彩，语言却足够漂亮，令人想起十九世纪末纽约城中错综复杂的水沟，灰色的生灵一闪而过。
