议论发展中的城市，种族问题，社会福利，三观不要太正。本书有趣在能找到很多玩意儿六零年代的剪影，比如卖肉主义的A&F，1960年是个卖户外运动装备的。后半程完全没办法当游记来看，全部的关注都在“人狗之间”。他生命的饱和度也太高了。

挺有意思的 坐骑兼职洗衣机名为Rocinante 中途还几次和老婆接头约会 哄着Charley看红杉 在新奥尔良见证历史 大哥把老狗Charley写得太可爱了吧！！

迄今為止讀過最有特色的有趣的遊記是：馬克吐溫坐船遊地中海的Innocents abroad，史提芬遜騎驢游歐洲的Travel with a donkey，和史坦貝克這本開著房車帶狗游美國的Travels with Charley.
