Educators stress it, journalists constantly report on it, and elected officials make it the linchpin of programs like "No Child Left Behind"—developing good reading skills in the early grades is critical to a student's continued success. But children don’t need to struggle—what they need is to work on the basics, a goal that can be helped greatly by parents. Announcing the completely revised and updated Brain Quest Reading, the tool that combines accessible, entertaining, onepage stories with curriculum-based questions. For kids, it's a fun way to hone their language skills; for parents, it's both a perfect assessment tool and an ideal aid that takes the guesswork out of how to help their children.
Featuring 20% new material and vetted by the Brain Quest Advisory Panel of award-winning educators, Brain Quest Reading takes a thorough approach to learning the fundamentals of reading and language arts. First comes an original short text or story illustrated in full color, with 56 per grade. Following the text is a comprehension card that quizzes the reader about the action, characters, and content. And following that is a Q&A card with questions on language arts, including grammar, phonics, vocabulary, and more.
