著者簡介

NATHAN HILL's short fiction has appeared in many literary journals, including The Iowa Review, AGNI, The Gettysburg Review, and Fiction, which awarded him its annual Fiction Prize. A native Iowan, he lives with his wife in Naples, Florida.

閱讀體驗超級流暢。想一口氣讀完，又捨不得讀完。朗讀者太重要瞭。會捧著書重讀。

從頭到第9章 Revolution 都很吸引人。可惜最後一章秒變議論文，前麵設瞭太多分主題要在最後一章給個說法，隻好藉助人物內心剖白瞭。

從去年讀到今年，終於把它讀完瞭。關於親情的部分真是看得我淚流滿麵，你最愛的人卻傷你最深，很多話無法說齣口，隻能forgive forgive forgive。這個主題也是，關於右派文化，關於消費時代，關於idealism and protests，切閤時事得讓人倒吸一口冷氣。最後一章爛尾是最大的遺憾。#1

好諷刺好犀利好真實！前幾章關於政客、媒體和privileged millennials直接在公車上笑齣瞭聲。很多書評都說是David Foster Wallace式犀利並meta的文風。後麵越看越神：2011、80年代、60年代、40年代相互交錯；9個角色的POV敘述，這其中包括一本以第二人稱敘述的choose your own adventure book，讓我們理解和同情每個人的經曆。就是這結尾太爛尾瞭啊！好像沒時間草草收場，或者是要達到choose your own adventure book那種“條條綫索均匯閤”的統一。而且結尾咋都開始說教瞭呢。

斷斷續續分瞭好幾次讀完。前半段好瑣碎好漫長。後麵突然就超級精彩！
