Three teens come together to save an innocent young man from hanging, and use their strength and skill to tackle a conflict that threatens hundreds of lives. The Weathermage is the powerful conclusion of Linda Smith's Tales of Three Lands fantasy trilogy. It brings together Cat Ashdale, heroine of The Minstrel's Daughter, and Talisa Thatcher of Talisa's Song with a compelling new character, Galia Soradotter. Galia, a young weather wizard from the fabled Misty Isles, has been sent to Freya to study magic. There's something she has to do, some unknown destiny to fulfill. But Galia, longing for home, doesn't even want to be there. Cat Ashdale knows what her challenge is - to visit Freyfall and find out why Garth Spellman stopped answering her letters. But Garth has disappeared completely. He's been working to help poor, dispossessed Freyans, and no one knows where he is. Talisa Thatcher, a singer from the starkly beautiful mountains of Uglessia, has the hardest task of all. Her beloved friend Cory Updale is in jail, charged with murders he didn't commit. If Talisa can't help him, he may be hanged. Yet what can she do, with nothing to offer but songs? And there may be more lives at stake than Cory's, as Talisa helps lead an amazing march of Freya's forgotten people.
