第一本正式读完的医学史作品，值得思考的一个是“各种现象/概念到底是什么”，一个是“历史过程到底是怎么样展开的”。

尝试用mobility cities environment war globalization这几个关键词串起epidemics的历史，文献是很全的，观点也可以，最难忘的可能还是state-making被看成a form of "internal colonialism"这种提法，好像也挺有道理，我现在理解的权力确实是被打散的，external和internal也没多大差别。

更像是一本教材。分别讨论mobility, cities, the environment, war, globalization这五个与传染病有关的主题，然后每章介绍三四个个案研究。书中还有不少小贴士类型的问题讨论和名词解析。。
