《无限星域》系列再次回归，照旧还是残酷的环境和利益冲突，映照出各种复杂人性，再加上神秘的外星科技，一路抓住读者的注意力。

这一部的故事局限在一个星球上，四个POV加一个interlude有点多余。事实上如果你只看Holden和Elvi的章节完全不影响理解。全书充满了冗长，自作聪明，毫无意义的对话，以及过度的心理描写。让人怀疑作者是来骗稿费的。最初的三方博弈显得肤浅而刻意，几章之后belter方彻底从博弈中消失了，冲突变得更加简单粗暴，反派动机根本站不住脚。人物刻画非常单薄，对Elvi的描写难以让人接受。最后的几章也许才是真正有趣的部分，可惜无法挽救整本书的失败，仅作为系列中的一部，还能勉强接受。

Some sort of adult version of Lord of the Flies. Understand why the authors styled the investigator parts differently, but those parts are just weird or out of tune.
