時間主題皆跨度極大，有教材意圖，故討論不深可理解，可找作者們博論/專書/論文。但硬傷：「視覺」或「圖像」分析明顯沒達到intro預想，雖各篇有別，但總體未超齣「插圖」意義，圖文結閤貧乏，圖像的社會史分析稀缺。同期葉文心等主編的History in Images和Visualising China, 1845-1965論文集更佳。該書附設網站http://visualizingmodernchina.org/content/。
