Gary covers general organza instructions, framing, mounting, threads, fabric and needle stitches. The instructions for each design include watercolour paintings and line drawings. Each design has been worked in a different style, yet all could be worked in any one style, such as traditional satin stitch, couching, beading, cross stitch, stumpwork, applique and many more. Gary stresses the importance of mounting the works correctly, each design having been mounted differently.
