Dewey's Marxian critique of modern capitalist society. 写在大萧条爆发之际。标志着杜威的政治理念进入最激进的时期。表面看, 杜威是主张全面推翻以私利为目的社会经济秩序，代之以计划经济或者至少是更多统筹管控的经济。因此杜威强烈批判罗斯福新政对资本主义秩序妥协过多，不够彻底。但我觉得杜威还是个Liberal，因为他对所谓社会主义socialistic政策的呼吁更多是他的实用主义精神驱使的，是为了应对迫在眉睫的社会危机，而不是教条地执着于某种历史发展铁律。

又读上杜威了，主要陈述了道德、物质与教育的disorder，主要来源是当时金钱至上的社会体制。他给出的方案是reconstruction不是马的revolution，更有实际意义因为全然转变社会体制肯定是又要面对另一套体制的疏漏的。不过现如今这种失调带来的虚无都被无尽的娱乐前赴后继地填上，主体性还能幸存吗
