Rosen, J. Steven was initiated into the esoteric tradition of Gaudiya Vaishnavism in 1975 by His divine grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, a prominent teacher in that lineage. Prabhupada gave Rosen the name Satyaraj dasa, which means "servant of the king of thruth".
