Introduced in 1976, The Music Kit was the first to offer students an integrated learning environment for the fundamentals course. A complete, parallel course for elementary sight singing has been integrated into The Music Kit for the first time. Several new types of sight-singing exercises appear in the Rhythm Reader, and the most popular sight-singing methods are introduced in the Workbook. In addition, the Scorebook melodies have been ordered to accommodate a basic sight-singing curriculum, progressing from simple major to natural minor, harmonic minor, melodic minor, pentatonic, and other modes.
