评分作者認為政治的本質是socialization of conflicts，而其結果取決於其scope。隻有政黨纔能獲得最大scope，於是政黨政治成為政治主流。作者認為競爭是人民主權的必要因素，但高估瞭弱勢群體參與競爭的程度，故對資本操控政治抱有樂觀態度，似認為半主權就已經是勝利
