it makes me sooooooo uncomfortable with her hypocritical narrative but i do wish i had read it when i was in college or even younger

總是討論早期作品是否算是文學作品沒太大意思，作者聲稱文本前半截是聽聞，後半截是親眼見到的，但後半部分殺妻等必然有大量虛構想象的成分，而且敘述者並不等同於真的FBA作者，全文中敘述者從未說過自己就是Aphra Behn（至少我看的版本裏沒有）。所以文本可能不是基於真實的奴隸敘事，但肯定是真的文學作品Oroonoko/Caesar殺完Imoinda/ Clemene後並沒有按照之前說的那樣去報仇，可能原因1 作者寫煩瞭匆匆結束文章 2 報仇的情節對奴隸製秩序是很大的顛覆，迫於輿論壓力放棄瞭構思

拜內容所賜，陰差陽錯成為傳世經典

結局紮心 female/power/slavery/culture/religious a little bit?/ betray. 5頁翻轉，前麵像在看童話。最後一頁在當下可以說非常ironic瞭：“no true democracy has ever existed, nor ever will exist."
