Newspaper editor and publisher Harold Evans is one of the most inflential names in the British media and has long been a powerful spokesman for the role of photography in journalism. He was editor of the Sunday Times between 1967 and 1981, resigning a year after Rupert Murdoch acquired the paper, citing a breach of guarantees of editorial independence.
