Herbert确实牛。本书其实论证了一个大命题，为什么无产阶级作为一个具有集体行动能力的群体已经不复存在，而社民党又如何策略应对相应的cross-cutting cleavages。偏好形成和第二维度出现的部分不时暴露他早年左派青年的案底，有些马克思主义、西马或社会学的底子读起来会很嗨。后面有spatial model和延伸。

职业对意识形态的影响，选举competitive space的策略重塑（office/vote seeking 寡头竞争等）都很惊艳，大佬不愧是大佬（但至今没理解为什么社民政党结构怎么就变这样了？？？
