Read Chapter 1. In the traditional historical narrate, the Long March, lead by Mao, is mainstream. Thus, guerrilla war in Southern China still lack of specific research. Benton's book seem as a good start. This chapter may enlightened Tension and Limits, wrote by Huang Daoxuan. Benton held out that stayer and goer all faced uncertain at that time.
