著者簡介

邁剋爾·魯惟一，英國著名漢學傢。從劍橋的佩雷斯學院畢業後，他進入牛津大學莫德林學院工作。因第二次世界大戰爆發，1942年他離開牛津大學，來到英國政府通訊部接受日語訓練；同時，開始利用業餘時間學習漢語。1947年，他來到北京生活，此時對中國傳統文化和中國曆史産生濃厚興趣，同時開始研究非洲和東方文化。返迴英國後，他任教於倫敦大學，主要講授遠東曆史。1963年，他獲得牛津大學博士學位，後任教於劍橋大學，是劍橋大學剋萊爾講堂的成員，劍橋大學以他的名字設立“魯惟一奬”專門用於奬勵在中國文學方麵錶現突齣的本科生。
