看到前麵會以為是恐怖小說，黑暗的氣氛鋪墊的挺下功夫的，前麵有一段不斷讓我想起Wuthering Heights的某些情節。Alice Hoffman敘述環境，氣氛的文字挺美的，又不矯揉造作，很有畫麵感。喜歡書中某些她藉書中的人物來傳達她的人生智慧的地方，比如有一處Mrs. Dale說she never judged what she didn't understand and that, Hollis knows, is rare. 另外，我個人很喜歡她不斷用平靜的語氣來講述一些大的驚奇點，誰偷愛誰，誰的命運大轉變，這種不經意的爆點會讓你想不停讀下去，看完的感受就是，一個人為瞭愛，究竟能有多瘋狂，多盲目。
