Making Sex pdf epub mobi txt 電子書 下載 2025
Turning Freud's famous dictum around, Thomas Laqueur posits that destiny is anatomy. Sex, in other words, is an artifice and "Making Sex" tells the story of sex in the west from the ancients to the moderns. The reader cannot fail to recognize the players in Laqueur's story - the human sexual organs and pleasures, food, blood, semen, egg, sperm - but the reader will be amazed at the plots into which they have been woven by scientists, political activists, literary figures, and theorists of every discipline. The book looks at how our predecessors, including physicians and scientists, thought about anatomy and analyzes our ideas on gender.
首尾兩章掃過。“Basically the content of talk about sexual difference is unfettered by fact, and is as free as mind's play." one-sex model to two sexes/genders
評分更新我xing知識的同時,argue about how scientific research is manipulated by cultural notion..作者隻是太critical thinking所以容易令人confused
評分"One-sex, one-flesh model" in anatomy, biology, and medicine traditions. Well researched, very informative, also interestingly problematic. Critical reading from historians: King, Helen. “The Mathematics of Sex: One to Two, or Two to One?” ;Park, Katharine. “The Rediscovery of the Clitoris.”
評分收獲很大的一本,難也是真的難,把我摺磨得死去活來,最開始課上講的一章大概讀瞭十遍纔有些思路。
評分我想說,這不是文學,這是生物學+哲學,非常daring的理論,書架上的一本好書
