苏童，1963年1月出生于苏州市。1984年毕业于北京师范大学中文系，现为江苏省作家协会专业作家。1983年开始小说创作，出版有《苏童文集》等。主要作品有《1934年的逃亡》、《妻妾成群》、《我的帝王生涯》、《武则天》、《米》、《蛇为什么会飞》等。

创作《我的帝王生涯》时，苏童大概手拿一根钢丝。钢丝的左侧写着江南，脑海里尽收“拙政园”，“网师园”，“退思园”和同里，甪直等古典名词，杂糅到书中，就成了“看见一群白色的鹭鸟从鸟柏树林中低低掠过”，“廊檐滴水无力地落在芭蕉叶上”这样凄楚的挽曲；钢丝的右侧写着...

前几天断断续续的用一个小半时时间看完了《我的帝王生涯》有点想法。 说实话，这本书前半部分我不喜欢，我不知道宫廷的描写是否真实也无从知晓，可能是觉得端白残暴昏庸无能不符合中国人期待着明君的愿望吧，可能这是残留在骨子里的集体无意识，从这或许看出了根深蒂固的奴性...
