評分多生詞，看的較慢，有些不懂的地方就瀏覽帶猜過去。看時，悲哀，氣憤夾雜其中，尤其在新婚之夜相互傾訴之後，Clare對Tess的無情離棄。痛恨Clare因世俗成見形成的愚蠢，當然我們自己心中諸如此類的世俗之見又會少嗎？ 另外書中對英國鄉村景色描寫很細膩。
