Very much like Death of a Salesman, with conflicts between fathers and sons. While Miller talks about the disillusion of the American dream of white working class, Wilson focuses on the black.

美國老師對黑人文學的情有獨鍾……但是實在太討厭Troy這個角色瞭……

Death of A Salesman, A Raisin in the Sun, Fences這三部作品有異麯同工之妙。這部Fences主題是關於種族歧視，傢庭倫理，美國夢，女性地位等。就我個人而言，不是很喜歡這一類的作品，讀多瞭總覺得內容不夠宏大，寓意不夠深厚（至少不是我想要的那種），而且有點兒大同小異的感覺

Very detailed, innovative and thought-provoking depictions of father-son and husband-wife relationships.Maybe fathers are always like shadows in the hearts of sons, but they mean to do more good than to do harm.
