讀瞭“Metropolitan Perceptions and the Emergence of Modernism”這篇，開篇綫頭有點多，跟的比較吃力，中間列齣瞭五個現象，跟齊美爾的論點有相通之處，後麵提齣瞭很ground-breaking的論點，說在關注現代主義形式的斷裂之外，還要意識到主題的延續，然而卻沒細講？

Ch 2: Historicization of modernist universals; how metropolitan conditions of miscellaneity (alienation; immigrant experience) necessitate aesthetics of universality (e.g., emphasis on media); global expansion of metropolitan perceptions and the need to specify categories of modern/modernism. 兩個RW沒細講但可深挖的點：城市科學量化管理與20C早期文學的全知視角；人工照明等基礎設施與城市文化建構。
