When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju.
On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes-a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)-who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. 看完IMAX的环太平洋，深深拜倒在80多米机甲的钢铁大腿下>///<看电影时候只顾着捂住耳朵抵挡高音量，不小心错过了crimson typhoon和cherno alpha怎么被爆的了= =所以马上找这本小说看，把整部电影复习了一遍。这本小说特别好的地方在于每个章节前面有一份文档，有战后报告、机甲档案、人物档案、研究报告、新闻报道、组织号召文件等等，对于理解故事细节来说非常有帮助。

评分好多讲机甲的部分词汇有点不够用。。。不过独家呈现的人物小传和一些陀螺提供的资料很有意思，交代了许多电影没有提到的情节和细节。
