评分作者是20世纪阿尔及利亚最重要的作家之一，也是历史学教授。这本小说把主人公的经历，其他阿尔及利亚女性的叙述，和抗法历史结合在一起，特别突出了关于语言和身份的迷惑。法国入侵和作者成长史轮着写的第一部分比较有趣，最后集中探讨身份的几个小节也不错，中间挺无聊的……（在我这个很少读文学作品的人看来）
