Salvador Dali (1904~1989), in his paintings, knew to represent the main subjects that interested twentieth-centry thinkers such as Freud and made the vanguards his own: all this led to Surrealist, and especially Metaphysical, painting. His extremely personal presentation of his life has contributed enormously to understadning his works.
