Henry James受George Eliot影响非常明显，喜欢借助大量细腻的心理刻画来塑造人物性格，但他失败之处在于缺乏足够的对话和行动支撑，人物形象过于抽象，远远不及George Eliot笔下的人物生动饱满，甚至人物性格的定位也缺乏说服力。尤其主角的portrait，本来就因为视角繁...
