Both a boys own adventure (for grown-ups) and a meditation on faith and the value of religious metaphor, it was one of the most extraordinary and original novels of 2002. The only survivor from the wreck of a cargo ship on the Pacific, 16 year old Pi spends 221 days on a lifeboat with a hyena, a zebra (with a broken leg), a female orang-utan and a 450-pound Royal Bengal Tiger called Richard Parker.

"Isn't just looking upon this world already something of an invention?" ; some differences between the novel and the film; the same astonishment; about faith and belief, which i cannot reach; the island part is the most attracting one, no doubt about it; fantastic wording; Ang Lee had done fabulous work!

评分3星，結尾加1，這個作者太多廢話瞭絮絮叨叨，幾次想棄，對話有的也莫名其妙，沒查多少單詞倒是真的，很一般很一般，不知中譯本咋樣，讀完我也沒想皈依哪個教派
