听杂志。彼得蒂尔认为美国高等教育的问题：1.学费高昂，学生负债严重；2.价值观可以，高等教育存在很大泡沫，对于创新有阻挡，对科技贡献很小；3.高等教育和名校的排他性，也就是对稀缺资源的占用。因此他创办了1517基金会，让辍学出来创业的年轻人们，可以在两年内得到10万美金的启动资金，把想法付诸实施。1517基金的出现，引发了很多对于高等教育的补充形式的探索。

今天拿到2012年12月最后一周的的Newsweek，封面赫然写着“#Last Issue”。读到刊内文章，原来并非另一个新闻噱头，是真的最后一期纸质版，以后只有电子版了。 我的Newsweek是机缘巧合，友人离去遗留而来。来美后才开始读到这本杂志，总体感觉是文章分量不如Times，但文章角度也很多元化，并且比较前沿。不足之处是拖沓文章较多，广告也占了大概一半的版面。在Newsweek上读到叙利亚危机下政府支持者的生活方式，读到美国中情局长婚外情的深度研究，文笔虽无惊人风雨，却有别开生面的蹊径可寻。 我也可算是见证了世界数字化、网络化的尾巴，而且一直为...
