著者简介

阿瑟·高顿（Arthur Golden），生于美国田纳西州查塔努加（Chattanooga），本科毕业于哈佛大学艺术史系，专攻日本艺术。1980年，获哥伦比亚大学日本史硕士学位，兼修中文。在北京大学进修一个夏季之后，他到东京工作。回到美国后他在波士顿大学获英文硕士学位。目前他与妻子和两个孩子定居马萨诸塞州布鲁克林。《艺伎回忆录》是其发表的第一部长篇小说。

多年前看的电影，因为中国人演日本艺伎就很不喜欢。拿起书本的时候，电影情节已经忘得一干二净，但阅读过程中理所当然地用章子怡、杨紫琼和巩俐的脸去脑补了这些角色。有时候文字的确能比电影更细腻地表达感情，这本就是例证。

电影刚出来的时候看的电影。前两天偶尔淘到了书，抽着挤着时间读完了。描述手法不错，不过一到细节描写，英文就没有中文丰富。硬伤。
