Originally published in a limited paperback version and republished in 1983 as a limited hardcover edition commissioned by the author, rare-book dealers sell copies of this book for more than a thousand dollars. finally get access to it, amazing photographs. The greatest thing I loved about Larry Clark is that he is the insider of the world his work revealed.

如同這本書的封底所說的那樣：這本書真實、真誠卻又殘忍地錶現齣瞭失落的少年的生活。這些失落的青年都是受害者：自己的受害者，相互的受害者，社會的受害者。這些青少年展示瞭美國夢的破滅：他們自我破壞著，毫無目的，快樂來自於快感。攝影師所拍攝的所有圖像都是十分親密的距離。你感覺不到攝影師的評判或是批判，你隻能看到這些人仿佛就在你眼前活著。把安非他命一針針紮到自己的血管中，藥物隨著血流湧入全身，他們與現實相融，以一種極其超齣現實的方式。說到底，美國夢就不是個現實，每個人的現實都是不一樣的現實。破滅，破滅，破滅。沒有誰能為這樣的情景負責，又似乎所有人都應該負責，包括他們自己。看完之後很沉重。
