A brief intro to the history of American Revolution from the formidable Gordon Wood. A bit hagiographic (e.g., the Good Americans vs. the scheming Europeans. But Europeans are probably more scheming) as it is probably intended for high school students. Americans were a prickly bunch. And they did think that they were special.
