This book is based on 1.0 release - which has been in development for about 2 years. </P>

Subversion is an open source project that provides a server and a command-line client. Subversion runs on many flavors of Linux, Mac OS X, and Win32. Subversion is a new system. The current, leading, open source revision control system is CVS. It is hoped that Subversion's improved features will eventually lead to it usurping CVS in the open source world. </P>
