Though the family lives in a little log house in the Big Woods, it is very snug. Pa hunts for beasts at day and play fiddles for his Children at night. Ma makes delicious syrup, pumpkin pies, Johnny's cake, etc for the family and keep knitting beside the hearth. Sometimes Lara and Mary are naughty, but both of them love baby Carrie.

大森林里的小木屋是这套系列中的第一本，这时的罗拉还很小，还不是很能理解父母的艰辛，但是她已经能感受到父母乐观的生活态度了。从这里一步步读起，感受罗拉的成长。即便是成年人，也不会不为之感动。你有过读《小王子》的感受么？这套书再一次让我有那种触动。
