罗兰・英格斯・怀德（1867年-1957年），生于美国中部威斯康星州的拓荒者家庭。系美国二十世纪四五十年代著名的儿童文学家。罗兰从65岁才开始儿童文学的创作，毕其一生所完成的九本“小木屋”系列小说，现均为世界儿童文学的经典之作。

Though the family lives in a little log house in the Big Woods, it is very snug. Pa hunts for beasts at day and play fiddles for his Children at night. Ma makes delicious syrup, pumpkin pies, Johnny's cake, etc for the family and keep knitting beside the hearth. Sometimes Lara and Mary are naughty, but both of them love baby Carrie.
