大学二年级读，最挚爱的小说...先是看james dean的电影，他那敏感的眼神和脆弱的声音让我感到异常痛苦...之后看这部小说似乎应是我第一部看完的原文小说。和电影一样主人公的孤独和痛苦让我感同身受。我深深记得steinbeck在前言里说的no story has power unless the reader feel for it and feel for themselves (大意）。他这样说也这样做到了

“就这么结束了？！”的震惊感过去之后，这本书可真是场长征啊【我的错。

假期里和lg一起读完了这本厚厚的半自传。故事讲述了salinas valley几代人的生活，没有太多高潮或悬疑，只是人物本身的性格，转变和交汇很吸引人。也算是本加州拓荒史，当然少不了中国人的身影，华裔老仆Lee是我最喜欢的角色

拿起就放不下了，太好看了。立体的人物，深刻的思考，智慧的言语，痛苦的觉悟。

读斯坦贝克的《伊甸之东》，感觉到一种很稀有的吸引力。小说将近七百页，读起来却毫无对厚书的恐惧感。两个家族的家族历史，娓娓道来，叙述与抒情当中夹杂着准确妥帖的议论，朴素而充满力量。情节不复杂，却能深刻而精确的反映人性的种种面貌。据说这本小说在作者的作品中并不...
