In Sophocles' depiction of this myth, Electra admits that her actions are shameful even though they are just. Each play in the "Greek Tragedies in New Translations" series - meant for the non-specialist reader - is preceded by a critical introduction and is accompanied by notes designed to clarify obscure references and to explain the conventions of the Athenian stage.

安卡森的an oresteia里头，最打动我的就是索福克勒斯的这本，简直是杜拉斯的味道，(而擅长解构，反讽的欧里庇得斯总让我想起特别喜爱的ali smith)。如果说俄狄浦斯是弑父恋母，觉得Elektra就是弑母恋弟，感情浓烈到那样一种地步，已经模糊了不同感情领域的边界。Orestes终于动手复仇，更像是出于对形销神毁般悲痛的Elektra一种强大的"同情"，是为姊复仇，而不是为父。Elektra和Antigone这两位偏执少女，是索福克勒斯一对最耀眼的女儿。

Antigone all over again and again. Can justice do harm？阿伽门农到底先射鹿还是先俘虏了Chryseis啊？他为什么一边献祭Artemis一边惹怒Apollo啊？

虽然读的不是anne carson的译本???? 姐妹dynamic像极了Antigone.. 相比euripides的更喜欢这个electra的人物塑造
