a clumsy yet extremely honest meta-book, too anal to be lovable really

比起第一本Fun Home閱讀壁壘高瞭很多，打著為母親做傳的旗號摘抄瞭大段大段的Winnicott/Woolf，對精神分析/自我本我/潛意識感興趣的同學還是可以讀一讀的，我這種心理學小白讀到後麵就一頭霧水瞭。其實Alison的媽媽作為同妻的故事本來可以很彆樣的，可能作者真的跟母親不親近，導緻最後的成書反倒寫自己比較多，十分self-absorbing。

比fun home比更加壓抑瞭 從父親到母親 也從James Joyce到瞭Virginia Woolf 還有貫徹全書的Winnicott psychoanalysis 抽絲剝繭近乎強迫癥般地分析和rationalize自己和母親疏離的關係...

跟fun home很不一樣的感覺，更偏重心理學，一步步探尋她和母親的關係，destroy and survive.

This feels like less a memoir about the author's mother, and rather more like a book report on Winnicott's work. Far too many quotations, which don't mesh with the graphic novel form that well. I find Fun Home a lot more readable and moving.
